It is very resistant to cooking, has a low smoke point and is very difficult to oxidise. Sesame oil is popular in Asian cuisine and is used in both pastry and cooking. Sesame oil can be used in all the uses of olive oil and other types of cooking oil. It can, for example, replace olive oil in mayonnaise or in white sauce for fish and pork.

Sesame oil is rich in nutritional value as it contains zinc (as well as other minerals), high levels of vitamin E and calcium.

Properties of sesame oil

In the properties of this product we find a rich biography. Sesame oil is a source of antioxidants (which makes it ideal for cooking) but it should be used in small quantities as it has a strong taste (stronger than other oils).
