Oriental Express at AnimeCon 2025
When the East met the World of Anime in Thessaloniki
Oriental Express travelled to Thessaloniki and launched AnimeCon 2025, the biggest celebration of Japanese culture in Greece!
On October 4 and 5, the “Ioannis Vellidis” Conference Center was transformed into a setting full of rhythm, flavors, and anime vibes—and Oriental Express was there to transport visitors to an authentic Asian experience.
Anime Battle Arena – The stage was on fire!
At the Anime Arena Battle by Oriental Express, fans gave it their all in a series of thrilling and entertaining challenges:
-
Taiko Challenge – with drums, rhythm and energy, just like in the heart of Japan.
-
Villain Laugh Contest – featuring the most theatrical, “wicked” laugh on stage!
-
Karaoke Sprint – where participants sang anime hits without fear of unexpected changes.
-
Secret Move – the ultimate acting challenge, for those who dared to show off their “ultimate attack.”
The big winners won exclusive Japanese goodies and experienced moments they will remember for a long time!
Workshop with Chef Panagiotis Karafoulidis
The most delicious part of AnimeCon was, of course, the Oriental Express Workshop!
Chef Panagiotis Karafoulidis introduced the audience to the secrets of Japanese cuisine, from traditional sauces to sushi essentials.
Participants had the opportunity to sample surprise flavors, guess the “secret” recipe, and fill their bags with unique Japanese goodies.
An experience full of anime, taste and energy
Oriental Express brought more than products to AnimeCon – they brought experiences.
Games, competitions, music and lots of laughter created the most energetic and colourful time of the festival.
The audience participation exceeded all expectations, proving that the flavors of the East and the pop culture of anime can coexist in the most enjoyable way.
Sayōnara… until next year!
The Oriental Express would like to thank everyone who participated and promises to return with even more culinary experiences, anime vibes, and surprises!
Until then, discover your favorite Oriental Express products at select stores throughout Greece.
